    WASHINGTON, D.C. – A bipartisan majority of the United States House of Representatives now supports the Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA). The LRFA, which signals members of Congress' opposition to imposing new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay, now has 225 cosponsors in the House. There are 24 cosponsors in the Senate.

In the North Dakota State Legislature, NDBA members are strongly represented by attorney Jack McDonald, NDBA appointed officers and the NDBA Executive Director, Beth A. Helfrich. They tirelessly fight to maintain open meetings and open records, keep taxes off advertising and maintain the legality of advertising all types of products, goods and services.

On the federal level the NDBA Executive Director, Board of Directors, & members work closely with NAB members and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to inform our Congressional Delegation on issues of importance to broadcasters.  As ND Broadcasters face the challenges and opportunities confronting our industry, we are here to assist you. With Public affairs programming, issue advocacy, regulatory advice, community service and much more, your NDBA is working on your behalf.
